Active Flight Stabilization
The AFS system goes beyond merely improving stability; it immediately and constantly detects and corrects and sign of uneven flight through the use of sophisticated on-board sensors. By releasing the sticks, pilots allow AFS to regain control of the NexSTAR for them.
Pivot Flexâ„¢ Wing Mounting
Most trainers' wings attach with rubber bands so they can "pop off" in a crash and avoid severe damage. Other feature wings that are bolted on for speed and simplicity. NexSTAR's unique PivotFlex mounting system combines the advantages of both. Only one nylon bolt fastens the wing quickly and securely; an ingenious rubber retainer and pivoting channel absorb minor jolts, but the wing can still separate from the fuselage to escape the full force of more serious mishaps.

Here's another special NexSTAR safety feature that comes into play when flying speeds re so slow that stalls are possible. SpinControl creates a second airfoil with a higher angle of attach that continues providing lift in a stall to help keep the wing level and pilots in control.

The innovative SpeedBrakes flaps consistently limit airspeed while increasing stability—a read benefit for beginners when approaching the runway for a landing. But they're also removable, giving the NexSTAR a little extra "zip" when the beginner is ready to progress to the next level.

The NexSTAR's .46 FXi engine comes already installed on this special mount (no tapping or drilling required), which lowers engine noise and isolates vibration that can potentially damage the airframe or radio components.
