One of the most widely recognized aircraft ever produced, the Piper J-3 Cub is available with Great Planes' computer designed and drawn engineering—resulting in outstanding scale accuracy and easy assembly.
This model has been created using actual 3-view drawings of the original aircraft. The wing, fuselage, rudder and stabilizer are all recreated to scale. So are the barn door ailerons which are much more authentic in appearance than the strip ailerons found on other Cub Models.
The kit features precisely die-cut, interlocking parts and many "extras" for smooth scale building—like leading edges which are already notched for automatic rib replacement, and nearly all-balsa construction (which is easier to finish and cover than the poplar ply construction of other Cubs).
Best of all, if you've successfully built and flown a trainer, you can succeed with a Great Planes Piper J-3 Cub. For smooth, scale-like flight, build the standard wing. For hotter aerobatic performance, build the clipped-wing version.
