All Fan Units Will Show Scuff Marks From Factory
Please note that all fan units are run at the factory and show scuff marks from the blades hitting the shroud. The manufacturer at this price point does not spend a lot of time mounting the fan and adjusting it to eliminate run out which causes the scuffing. Instead, they run up the motor till the scuffing wears down the blades and the issue is resolved. Not the best idea but that's how it is handled at the moment. We suggest as a must, that all fans should be taken apart and reassembled using blue thread lock on motor screws as none is done at the factory. While the unit is apart, the fans blades should be balanced and adjusted on the collet during reassembly to minimize run out. Most out of true issues can be solved by changing the position of the fan on the collet to get any tolerance issues working in your favor. These are really well priced power combos and a little work from the consumer helps keep prices down.
