The CS-1 was designed by Dornier to be a replacement for the much-vaunted Hansa Brandenburg W-29. However, not withstanding, the incorporation of the highly successful structural innovations pioneered by the Zeppelin Works, this craft never made it into production. The CS-1’s design was a radical departure from conventional structural techniques of the day. This aircraft featured an all-metal structure along with a stressed skin fuselage.
