This ship has lent its name to the well known American movie starring Katherine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart. The story takes place during World War I, with the AFRICAN QUEEN attacking the German warship "Konigin Luise" on Lake Victoria in Africa, after a long and perilous voyage down one of the tributaries to the lake.
The boat used in filming the movie sails today in Florida. It has an iron hull and is equipped with a steam engine.
The AFRICAN QUEEN is a 1:12 scale model of ABS construction which includes a molded steam engine. It is suitable for radio control and comes with all required fittings.
