The unique Hyperboloid wire sleeve socket uses special Astraloy 174 copper alloy that hs the mechanical strength of mild steel but hte electrical conductivity of copper. Both the wire sleeve and mating male pin are plated with 50 microns of pure gold for miniumum voltage drop and maximum life.
These aerospace quality contacts have been tested to Mil STD for 100,000 insertion cycles without showing any measurable degredation. The solid machined copper alloy pins and sockets have the conductivity of 14 gauge copper wire. The voltage loss across with connector is no greater and usually less than the voltage loss across an equal length of 14 gauge wire.
