This set contains the necessary colors to paint American vehicles according to the MERDC (Mobility Equipment Research and Development Center) camouflage system used by the United States Army during the 1970s.
This comprehensive set contains all the required colors necessary to paint the various MERDC camouflage schemes. The MERDC patterns are: MERDC Summer Verdant, MERDC Tropical Verdant, MERDC Gray Desert, MERDC Red Desert, MERDC Snow/Open Terrain, MERDC Snow/Trees and MERDC Winter Verdant.
AK Interactive depends on exact standards ensuring that all colors correspond FS 595 (United States Federal Standard colors used in Government Procurement) color chart. To ensure historical accuracy of your finished model AKI paints have been designed taking into account the Scale Reduction Effect*. AKI acrylic paints are water soluble and can be applied by brush and airbrush; additionally, AKI paints are free of odors commonly found in aggressive solvent based paints.
AKI's AFV series paints are not only historically accurate and specially formulated with top quality components to exacting standards but take into account the effect of scale reduction. Ready to use straight from the bottle; simply shake, and the paint is ready to go. Dilution is not necessary when airbrushing AKI paints; however, when painting camouflage or fine lines, add a few drops of AKI's specially formulated thinner AKI712. Useful with all acrylic paints, AKI712 improves the performance of the paint and is vastly superior to most other available thinners.

- AKI4214 Light Green (FS34151)

*A model tank reflects less light than an actual full size tank; this means the color applied to the model must be of a lighter shade to look the same as the full sized version. If the exact same shade were applied to each, the model would appear darker as it reflects less light.
